I guess this is part of the conversation we are having.
L & I were invited to a brunch at friends today. We were asked to bring something which is great. So what do you take when you are Paleo? We decided that we would take what we could eat. L made a lovely banana bread. The recipe for this lovely loaf was taken from "The Civilised Caveman". You can find the recipe here: http://civilizedcavemancooking.com/grain-free-goodies/paleo-banana-bread/ We also took a fruit platter however our hosts had a fabulous fruit platter already on the table. I also took date paste rolls coated in crushed almonds.
We also wanted a drink that was low in sugar, calories but was a bit special as we are a bit over water. So we took our standby coconut water and a bottle of Britvic Purdeys multivitamin drink. This drink is great to take to a party. It looks like champagne and tastes lovely with low-ish sugar.
So we had enough to sup on if we found nothing else to eat that was Paleo friendly. However we had bacon and eggs supplied by our hosts. It was lovely to sit around and not have to worry about food choices.
Another plus was that one of the guests is gluten intolerant and we were able to share our loaf and some ideas with her. She enjoyed the loaf and was the impetus for this post.
In the future I will post some of the things we take to social outings to friends places. I will also let you know what Paleo friends are bringing to out place that is paleo friendly.
